TASSC has an Advocacy Program that gives survivors the opportunity to speak out against torture and other human rights abuses in their countries, and advocate for changes in asylum policy.  Survivors can participate in advocacy in a variety of ways. They can:

  • Attend meetings with aides in the United States Congress on Zoom and in-person

  • Share ideas about U.S. policy toward their countries via social media, leaving voice messages and sending their concerns via email

  • Conduct research on certain political developments in their countries

There is no need to provide your name if you can become involved in advocacy. You can share whatever you like about your life, political conditions in your country and asylum policy. If you want to learn more about the advocacy program, we can connect you to Andrea Barron, TASSC’s Advocacy & Outreach Program Manager, at Andrea@tassc.org.
