team impact days

Experience relationship building with a diverse community of asylum-seekers. Could your team lead a Volunteer Impact Day such as one of the following?

  • Sponsor a cultural luncheon for survivors to learn about a particular tradition or holiday (American or otherwise);

  • Lead an event to engage survivors in creative activities aimed at building connection and community;

  • Spring clean our local garden with survivors at TASSC; or

  • Host a half day “round robin” resume review or mock interview session for survivors to meet with skilled members of your team.

One-on-One Support and Mentoring

Your team members can volunteer on a regular basis at the TASSC office in Northeast DC to meet with survivors individually and work on resumes, LinkedIn profiles, cover letters or job applications. Scheduling is flexible, but needs to be at the same time each week or every other week, for at least 3 months (fall, winter, spring or summer). Click here for more information.

We also seek volunteers on a rolling basis for our Professional Mentor Program, for which we pair survivors with professionals in their industry for a 3-month (or longer, if desired) mentorship to work toward their networking and professional development goals. Click here for more information.
