Dream and Promise: TASSC Statement on the passage of H.R.6

TASSC International applauds the passage of the American Dream and Promise Act by the U.S. House of Representatives and celebrates with the hardworking aspiring Americans this bill benefits.

As an organization that serves survivors of torture from around the world, many of whom have received, or are hoping to receive, asylum status in the United States, TASSC recognizes the profound importance of providing permanent migration relief and protection to vulnerable immigrant communities that contribute greatly to our country such as Dreamers, TPS holders, and DED recipients.  

After what has been several years of blatant disdain towards, and hostile incursions into, our longstanding national migration relief and protection mechanisms by the current executive administration, we are grateful for congressional action that stands up for what is right. TASSC urges the U.S. Senate to show compassion, to act with courage, and to immediately pass this Dream and Promise legislation.
