TASSC is starting to prepare for June Survivors Week, which will take place from June 22-26. TASSC's Advocacy Coordinator will be meeting with survivors today to:
-Discuss what you want Members of Congress to know about torture and human rights violations in your countries;
-Write letters to Senator Ben Cardin from Maryland thanking him for sponsoring the Senate Resolution 432 - Supporting respect for human rights and encouraging inclusive governance in Ethiopia. This resolution was introduced on April 10, 2016 and is co-sponsored by 10 other Senators. Everyone can write letters to thank Senator Cardin, but it is especially important for survivors who live in Maryland to participate;
-Hear about the problems you experience because of the long wait for asylum interviews.
This will be a great meeting to get involved in advocacy and to have your voice heard. We'd like as many survivors to attend as possible!
