We have wonderful news for you! Congresswoman Karen Bass will be visiting TASSC on Monday, December 5 from 11:00 am-12:30 pm to hear directly from survivors, especially from Africa.
She is a Democrat from California and a leader of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa and Global Human Rights. She works on United States policy toward sub-Saharan Africa, including legislation dealing with human rights, democracy and oversight of foreign assistance to individual African countries.
Congresswoman Bass is coming to TASSC to hear YOUR VOICES about why you were persecuted in your country. We would like individual survivors to speak for 5-10 minutes about your own personal story—this is a time when survivors can have a role in shaping US policy toward Ethiopia, Eritrea, Cameroon and other African countries.
At 12:30 TASSC will host a lunch for all of you, with delicious food and beverages. We hope everyone can join us for this special TASSC community lunch.
Please email Andrea Barron at Andrea@tassc.org if you can make it.
