Portraits of Resilience by Jonathan Banks

  • The Phillips Collection-Phillips@THEARC (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Through the photographs taken by Jonathan Banks, an internationally known humanitarian photographer, survivors of torture tell their stories. The portraits bring humanity to the surface as a voice to end the practice of torture and support each other as they empower themselves.

Governments torture their citizens because of their beliefs, religion, teachings, protesting of war, or just for who they are. It can be years waiting for asylum and in the meantime, TASSC and our generous friends, help with healing, hope, and a sense of home.

Through this exhibition, TASSC wants to raise awareness about the practice of torture around the world, encourage people to fight against it, and help support more survivors of torture.
