This year, TASSC is celebrating 20 years as an organization - a huge milestone for our staff, founders, supporters and most importantly - survivors. We have an exciting week of events.

Please register to attend using the form on this page.

Agenda

For this year's conference, we aim to highlight and celebrate all of the elements that make TASSC unique in our mission to support survivors and abolish torture.

  • We'll kickoff our conference with a special keynote session featuring TASSC's early members and founders, which will discuss TASSC's roots in advocacy as a form of healing and a way to preserve memory and promote truth.
  • Additional sessions will focus on TASSC's core values, providing strengths-based, survivor-led, trauma-informed and interdisciplinary care, in the context of different disciplines and professional backgrounds.
  • Our fourth panel, led by Advocacy Program Manager Andrea Barron, will focus on Advocacy and Human Rights, and TASSC's model and proven track record influencing policy.
  • This session will be followed by an Advocacy Training for all those interested in doing advocacy on the Hill, alongside TASSC survivors, on June 26th.

Continuing Education Credits

TASSC's conference is approved for 4 Social Work Continuing Education (CE) hours. Participants may earn 4 CE hours by participating in the panel discussion portion of the conference taking place in the morning and ending at 2:30pm. You are not required to stay for the advocacy panel or training, but all are welcome.

CE's are approved under the NASW-DC Metro Chapter at a cost of $10. To obtain credit, you must register for the conference, sign-in upon arrival, and complete an evaluation at the end of the conference.

To pay for your CE's, you may pay online through our website here or pay by cash, check or credit card in person on the day of the conference. If paying in advance online, please include a note in the comments section of the donation page stating what the payment is for.
