Liz Sweet, HIAS, story of the oldest refugee resettlement organization in the US and its response to the current refugee crisis
Linda Rabben, author, Sanctuary and Asylum: A Social and Political History (2016) speaking on the history of sanctuary movement in the United States and current sanctuary jurisdictions

9:00 – 5:00 pm Advocacy Meetings: Delegations of survivors and TASSC supporters visit congressional offices to share their stories, support human rights and an end to torture.

Special Evening of Gratitude
LOCATION: TASSC OFFICE
6:30 – 8:00 pm Join TASSC to celebrate our community with refreshments, including special hor d'oeuvres prepared by Syrian refugee families and Ethiopian food cooked by a TASSC member. RSVP to email@example.com by June 19th. Unfortunately, children cannot be accommodated at this event.
Friday, June 23
SURVIVOR VIGIL & Rally
LOCATION: Lafayette Park (Opposite the White House)
1:00 – 3:00 pm Join TASSC as we stand in solidarity with all immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and survivors of torture from around the world. Hear a survivor testimony and live music, followed by a march to protest the Trump Administration's immigration policies and demand an end of torture.
Saturday June 24
COMMUNITY OF HEALING AND GENERAL ASSEMBLY
