Dear Friends:

I was about to say that Thanksgiving is a great time to think about
sharing our good fortune…but maybe we’re not all feeling that fortunate
this year. It’s been a rough one for many of us, yet the truth is we
still have an awful lot to be thankful for.

making healthcare, mental health, and social service professionals (and
students!) aware of the needs of immigrant torture survivors.

know that people often wait until the end of the year, but in my family
we sometimes use the time when we’re sitting around after Thanksgiving
dinner to share information about projects we think are worth supporting
– and to start writing those checks.

Thanks to your warm response to our last funding appeal, I was able to
travel to San Diego in October to present a progress report and clips
from the film at the Annual Conference of the American Public Health
Association. We had an enthusiastic reception, and made contact with
several organizations who want to be a part of our outreach campaign
when the film is completed. 

We’ve also just returned from an intensive shoot in Washington, DC,
where survivors from Ethiopia, Cameroon, the Philippines, and Guatemala
shared their stories with us. But there’s much more yet to be done, and
